Composter

Community Market is participating in a pilot project with North Bay Recycling and Collection to pick up are compostable material and take it to Sonoma Vermiculture; a worm farm in Petaluma, CA. We are now able to divert a majority of our landfill throw-away to this new project, where our scraps are being turned into usable soil amendment for local agriculture use. The project is currently diverting 120 tons of food scraps a month from local landfills in Sonoma County.
