Bulk Signs...Explained

Did you know we recently updated our bulk department signs? If so, did you notice the box of symbols at the top far right of each sign? Let us explain...

At Community Market we strive to make your shopping experience easier by doing some of the work for you, therefore, we added a nifty legend at the top of each bulk sign marking whether the product is:

Sproutable
Organic
Vegan
Fair Trade
Raw
Gluten-Free




Although most of the symbols are self-explanatory, some of the organic symbols might not look so familiar. This is because a lot of our organic bulk items are certified by different certification organizations. Below is a list of each symbol and the certification company it represents:





USDA organic






California Certified Organic Farmers






Quality Certification Services





Oregon Tilth Certified Organic





Quality Assurance International





Organic Crop Improvement Association




EcoCert





Organic (Not Certified)


The "Vegan" symbol is added only to products with more than a few ingredients (e.g. Granolas, Cereals, Trail Mixes, Candies, etc. etc.), therefore you will not see a the vegan logo on items such as rice, beans, and nuts.

The "Gluten-Free" symbol is only added to products that are certified gluten-free.
